Sinusoidal Oscillator Circuits Reexamined
Prasad, VIshnuvajjula Charan
Analog electroncis; Sinusoidal oscillators
Singular network condition is proposed to study oscillators. It states that a circuit is a potential oscillator if and only if the rank of the network matrix of size n X n is (n -1) at the frequency of oscillations . The dual (if it exists) and adjoint circuits of an oscillator are also oscillators. Limitations of Barkhausen’s approach are pointed out . It is explained that there are many ways to generate oscillations other than Barkhausen’s positive feedback configuration. The new approach emphasises that appropriate D C inputs / initial conditions are important.

Introducing Humanitarian Engineering Concepts to the Curriculum of Telecommunications
Borys, Andrzej Marek
Telecommunications; Teaching of humanitarian engineering concepts; curricula and syllabi of telecommunications; implementations within the Polish Qualifications Framework for higher education system in Poland
This paper describes a “distributed method” of introducing the humanitarian engineering principles and concepts to the curriculum of telecommunications at a maritime university. That is by modifying appropriately the syllabi of the telecommunications subjects taught. The propositions made in this area are illustrated by the concrete examples taken from the current Polish Qualifications Framework for the higher education system in Poland. And, for clarity and consistency of presentation, fundamentals and principles as well as a basic terminology and features of this Framework are also highlighted here shortly. Moreover, it has been shown that the approach presented in this paper is more useful compared to a method based on organization of some special courses for students on the humanitarian engineering, in particular when this regards a maritime university.

The paper suggests an improved method of active power distribution among the gas-diesel generators operating in parallel; the method involves the control of torque and the angular positions of their rotors. The use of the suggested approach to the solution of the active power distribution task in the presence of instability of drive motor speed provides the increase of autonomous power system operation efficacy and rising the power unit’s performance. The authors analyzed the causes of generation of low-frequency fluctuations of generator drive engine speed; in autonomous electric power systems, gas diesel generators are increasingly used as such generator drive engines. It is suggested to use the developed method and structure of the optical device for control of rotation period and the measurement of the generator rotor angle position characterized with high accuracy, as the sensor. The authors developed a schematic diagram of active power distribution among the generators operating in parallel, which uses the cross feedback for gas-powered diesel engine shafts momentum and the generator rotor angle position. They obtained experimental results confirming the efficiency of the suggested active power distribution method and its practical implementation.

Pedagogy
The article concerns the opinion on stationary and remote examinations carried out during a pandemic, perceived from the perspective of examiners. The aim of the study was to find out about the perspective of academic teachers on remote examination at The Maria Grzegorzewska University and to compare it with the traditional, stationary exams. The subject of the research were, inter alia, the forms of checking knowledge and skills used by lecturers, the motivations driving their choice, problems arising during the exams, as well as the way of taking into account the special needs of the examinees. The research used the method of diagnostic survey. The obtained results indicate that, according to the lecturers, the students' independence during remote exams is smaller and the intensity of using unauthorized help by them is greater. Remote exams generate more problems - technical and related to the dishonesty of students. Lecturers hardly recognize and take into account the special educational needs of students during remote exams.

Artificial Sensing Methodology, Machine Learning; Toxic gases; Tolerance Detections
Abstract— with rapid population increases, people are facing the challenge to maintain healthy conditions. One of the challenges is air pollution. Due to industrial development and vehicle usage air pollution is becoming a high threat to human life. This air pollution forms through various toxic contaminants. This toxic contamination levels increase and cause severe damage to the living things in the environment. To identify the toxic level present in the polluted air various methods were proposed by the authors, But failed to detect the tolerance level of toxic gases. This article discusses the methods to detect toxic gasses and classify the tolerance level of gasses present in polluted air. Various sensors and different algorithms are used for classifying the tolerance level. For this purpose “Artificial Sensing Methodology” (ASM), commonly known as e-nose, is a technique for detecting harmful gases. SO2-D4, NO2-D4, MQ-135, MQ136, MQ-7, and other sensors are used in artificial sensing methods (e-nose). “Carbon monoxide, Sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon dioxide” are all detected by these sensors. The data collected by sensors is sent to the data register from there it is sent to the Machine learning Training module (ML) and the comparison is done with real-time data and trained data. If the values increase beyond the tolerance level the system will give the alarm and release the oxygen.

Noise Characterization of Differential Multi-Element Multiport Networks - the Wave Approach
Dobrowolski, Janusz
Microwave Theory and Techniques
In this paper there is presented and discussed a general analysis method for noise characterization of noisy multi-element multiport differential networks. It is based on mixed mode, differential and common mode, noise waves representation of noise, generalized mixed-mode scattering parameters and generalized mixed-mode noise wave correlation parameters for the network. There are derived analytical relation between the noise figure for a given output port and the noise matrix and the scattering parameters of the network, as well as the correlations between the input port noise waves. The signal to noise ratio degradation factor is derived and discussed, too. Presented results can be implemented directly in a CAD software for noise analysis of differential microwave multi-element multiport networks with differential as well as with conventional single ended ports.

Astuti, Dian Widi
Research on improving the performance of microstrip antennas is continuously developing the following technology; this is due to its light dimensions, cheap and easy fabrication, and performance that is not inferior to other dimension antennas. Especially in telecommunications, microstrip antennas are constantly being studied to increase bandwidth and gain according to current cellular technology. Based on the problem of antenna performance limitations, optimization research is always carried out to increase the gain to become the antenna standard required by 5G applications. This research aims to increase the gain by designing a 5-element microstrip planar array antenna arrangement at a uniform distance (lamda/2) with edge weights at a frequency of 2.6 GHz, Through the 1x5 antenna design with parasitic patch, without parasitic, and using proximity coupling. This study hypothesizes that by designing an N-element microstrip planar array antenna arrangement at uniform spacing (lamda/2) with edge weights, a multi-beam radiation pattern character will be obtained so that to increase gain, parasitic patches contribute to antenna performance. This research contributes to improving the main lobe to increase the gain performance of the 1x5 planar array antenna. Based on the simulation results of a 1x5 microstrip planar array antenna using a parasitic patch and edge weighting, a gain value of 7.34 dB is obtained; without a parasitic patch, a gain value of 7.03 dB is received, using a parasitic patch and proximity coupling, a gain value of 2.29 dB is obtained. The antenna configuration with the addition of a parasitic patch, even though it is only supplied at the end (edge weighting), is enough to contribute to the parameters impedance, return loss, VSWR, and total gain based on the resulting antenna radiation pattern. The performance of the 1x5 microstrip planar array antenna with parasitic patch and double substrate (proximity coupling), which is expected to contribute even more to the gain side and antenna performance, has yet to be achieved. The 1x5 planar array antenna design meets the 5G gain requirement of 6 dB. Keyword—Microstrip antenna; edge weighting; parasitic patch; proximity coupling; 5G antenna gain.

RADAR; Impulse RADAR; Ground Penetrating RADAR (GPR)
RADAR plays a vital role in military applications since its origin in the 2nd world war. Recently it has been used in surface inception, health monitoring, infrastructure health monitoring, etc. In these applications, Ultra-wideband RADAR systems are more popular than traditional RADAR systems. Impulse RADAR is a special kind of ultra-wideband RADAR, which is mostly used for surface penetration, through-wall imaging, antimissile detection, anti-stealth technology, etc. because of its high resolution and low center frequency. Out of all these applications, impulse RADAR has been used intensively as a ground-penetrating RADAR for the detection of land mines, underlying pipelines, buried objects, etc. This report has attempted to provide the steps for designing the impulse ground penetrating RADAR (GPR) as well as provides the value of crucial parameters required in the design process of commercial GPR systems.

Cluster Based Optimization of Routing in Distributed Sensor Networks Using Bayesian Networks with Tabu Search
Bhajantri, Lokesh B.
This paper proposes a cluster based optimizat ion of routing in Distributed Sensor Network (DSN) by employing aBayesian network with Tabu search approach. Bayesian Network based approach is used to select efficient clusterheads, as well as construction of Bayesian Networks for the proposed scheme. This approach incorporates energylevel of each node, bandwidth and link efficiency. Simulations have been conducted to compare the performance ofthe proposed approach and LEACH.The optimization of routing is considered as a design issue in DSNs due to lack of energy consumption, delayand maximum time required for data transmission between source nodes (cluster heads) to sink node. In this work, optimization of routing takes place through cluster head nodes by using Tabu search. This meta - heuristic techniqueis used to optimize the routing in the DSN environment that guides a local search procedure to explore the solutionspace beyond local optimality. The objective of the proposed work is to improve the performance of network interms of energy consumption, throughput, packet delivery ratio, and time efficiency of optimizat ion of routing. Theresults shows that the proposed approach perform better than LEACH protocol and proposed protocol utilizesminimum energy and latency for cluster formation, thereby reducing the overhead of the protocol.

Automating the tasks that require manpower has been considered as an area of active research in science and technology. Challenges in designing such systems include accuracy in the parameters of performance, minimal hardware, cost-efficiency, and security. The efficiency of drones designed for replacing humans is often evaluated using their weight, flying time, and power consumption. Herein, the prototype-based Drone model has been designed and discussed for horticulture applications. In this model, a horticulture drone has been designed for structuring and cutting of plants in street interstates. This methodology focuses on automation engineering that is utilized for cutting the plants in less time and less power, thereby diminishing the contamination that may happen by utilizing fuels. The epic part of this plan includes the less weight drone predesigned using Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA) V5 Software. The throttle for the motors is adjusted at 50% to get the required thrust for the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to fly. Experimental results show that the horticulture drone has comparatively more flying time and less power consumption. Keywords— CATIA; UAV; Automation; Thrust; Throttle.

Gratkowski, Tomasz
In the paper an implementation of algorithm of Petri net array-based synthesis is presented. The method is based on decomposition of colored interpreted macro Petri net into subnets. The structured encoding of places in subnets is done of using minimal numbers of bits. Microoperations, which are assigned to places, are written into distributed and flexible memories. It leads to realization of a logic circuit in a two-level concurrent structure, where the combinational circuit of the first level is responsible for firing transitions, and the second level memories are used for generation of microoperations. This algorithm is implemented in C# and delivered as a stand alone library.

The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing- Multiple Input Multiple Output (OFDM-MIMO) is an efficient method that helps in combatting the fading and providing higher SNR to the WiMAX system. According to the IEEE 802.16 specification, for QPSK modulation, a threshold SNR of 6 dB is required for the link to operate. In the present work the use of OFDM-MIMO achieves a SNR above this operating threshold.

Analysis of the Photoacoustic Helmholtz Resonator with Conical-Ended Duct
Suchenek, Mariusz
Acoustic; Acoustic Modeling;
Q-factor of photoacoustic Helmholtz cells can be improved by modification of the duct ends. The paper describes how mechanical modification of the duct ends affects the photoacoustic Helmholtz resonator. The cone profile of the duct ends was studied and, according to previous work, the linear modification of the cone parameter does not result in a linear increase of the resonator Q-factor and resonance frequency. The influence of the conical modification, cone length and angle was investigated using the computer simulations based on the stepped-approximated model.

Editorial - Electronic Circuits Testing
Strzelecki, Michał
Hałgas, Stanisław
We greatly appreciate the opportunity to highlight the topic of electronic circuits testing by the International Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications. Imperfections in the manufacturing process requires testing of hardware-implemented circuits and their components. The increasing complexity of such systems makes this issue more and more demanding. The main objective of testing is to distinguish between good and faulty ones. This objective can be achieved in several ways, e.g. by functional or structural testing. Either analog or digital, fault detection or location in electronic systems is usually performed by analysis of measurements results acquired from a limited number of inputs and outputs. This problem becomes near critical with the advent VLSI and ULSI components. For more than five decades, the subject of fault location in analog and mixed-signal circuits has been of interest to researchers. In recent ten years this interest has been intensified significantly. The device and voltage scaling scenarios for present and future nanometer CMOS technologies cause that the attention will shift to testing defects that did not exist before or that were not relevant in the past....

Channel assignment in 2.4 GHz band of 802.11 standard is still important issue as a lot of 2.4 GHz devices are in use. This band offers only three non-overlapping channels, so in crowded environment users can suffer from high interference level. In this paper, a greedy algorithm inspired by the Prim’s algorithm for finding minimum spanning trees (MSTs) in undirected graphs is considered for channel assignment in this type of networks. The proposed solution tested for example network distributions achieves results close to the exhaustive approach and is, in many cases, several orders of magnitude faster.

Narrow-band Interference; Impulsive Noise; Power-line Communications; BPSK-OFDM; QFSK-OFDM
The article describes and compares two OFDMbased communications schemes for reducing the effects of thecombination of Narrowband Interference (NBI) and ImpulsiveNoise (IN), which are noise types typical in Power Line Communication(PLC). The two schemes are Modified BPSK-OFDM(called MBPSK, for brevity) and QFSK-OFDM (called QFSK,for brevity), which are non-conventional OFDM schemes. Wegive a description of the two schemes, showing how they arederived and also show their similarities and eventually comparetheir performances. Performance simulation results, in termsof bit error rate, are given to compare the systems under theeffect of IN and NBI. The popular Middleton Class A modelis used for modelling IN. The results show that MBPSK schemeoutperforms the QFSK scheme in terms of minimum distance, and hence in terms of bit error probability when no preprocessingis performed. However, under clipping/nulling, both schemeseventually reach the bit error rate floor.

Currently, the Republic of Kazakhstan is developing a new standard for symmetric data encryption. One of the candidates for the role of the standard is the Qamal encryption algorithm developed by the Institute of Information and Computer Technologies (Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan). The article describes the algorithm. Differential properties of the main operations that make up the Qamal cypher are considered in the questions of stability. We have shown that for a version with a 128-bit data block and the same secret key size for three rounds of encryption it is difficult to find the right pairs of texts with a probability of 2–120, which makes differential cryptanalysis not applicable to the Qamal cypher

IoT – review of critical issues
Romaniuk, Ryszard S.
Internet of Things; Artificial Intelligence; IoT; Industrial IoT;
Science – research transformation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has a number of colours and shadows, many dimensions including technical, social, community, financial, economic and civilization. This transformation has many wide development roads but also numerable pitfalls and traps. It does not take place solely at the level of scientific and technical progress and innovation. It preliminarily takes place in a complex socio-political-economic context, narrowed for simplification as social acceptance and education only. Such acceptance, for example expressed simply by demand and market popularity, for simple items supplemented by useful functions, such as an iron that recognizes the type of fabric and matches its work accordingly, a completely autonomous vacuum cleaner, etc., is trivial. We aim at much deeper relations of IoT with society. If IoT were only adding such functionalities, it would not be worth the time to consider it here. IoT causes a lot of confusion for much more important reasons in many areas of life. Somewhere further on the potential paths of IoT development, it has been noted with interest, but also with anxiety, the possibility of its empowerment as local but also global, superintendent surveillance system, gathering enormous amounts of information, creating knowledge and making autonomous decisions. Potential subjectivity must include such attributes as acquiting from the creator, autonomy, consciousness, morality and further building by the society the whole legal system around the new entity. It will not be a single entity, it will be a whole virtual society, with electronic people. The consequences can be far-reaching and appear as an inevitable option on such a scale for the first time in the history of our human society. Overcoming certain barriers recognized by us may mean that the intelligence and consciousness are not only attributes of the human biological mind. Such reasoning, not without a reason, encounters strong resistance. However, there is a fundamental difference between the opposition to some genetic research and the potential modification of man himself, and the opposition to machine building, a system of superintendence that far exceeds the possibilities of a single man and of entire societies.

Comparing Gausian and exact models of malicious interference in VLC systems
Blinowski, Grzegorz J

Visible light communication networks, Network security, Physical layer security, Transmission jamming
Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a technique for high-speed, low-cost wireless data transmission based on LED luminaries. Wireless LAN environments are a major application of VLC. In these environments, VLC is used in place of traditional systems such as Wi-Fi. Because of the physical characteristics of visible light, VLC is considered to be superior to traditional radio-based communication in terms of security. However, as in all wireless systems, the security of VLC with respect to eavesdropping, signal jamming and modification must be analyzed. This paper focuses on the aspect of jamming in VLC networks. In environments where multiple VLC transmitters are used, there is the possibility that one or more transmitters will be hostile (or "rogue"). This leads to communication disruption, and in some cases, the hijacking of the legitimate data stream. In this paper we present the theoretical system model that is used in simulations to evaluate various rogue transmission scenarios in a typical indoor environment. The typical approach used so far in jamming analysis assumes that all disruptive transmissions may be modeled as Gaussian noise, but this assumption may be too simplistic. We analyze and compare two models of VLC jamming: the simplified Gaussian and the exact model, where the full characteristics of the interfering signal are taken into account. Our aim is to determine which methodology is adequate for studying signal jamming in VLC systems.

Hierarchical fast selection of intraframe prediction mode in HEVC
Siast, Jakub
Domański, Marek
Stankowski, Jakub
Telecomunication; Video Compression;
In the new HEVC standard, there are 35 intraframe prediction modes. Therefore, real-time implementations need fast mode pre-selection to reduce the computational load of cost comparison for individual modes. In this paper, a simple technique is proposed to reduce the complexity of the Unified Intra Prediction by decreasing the mode candidate number evaluated in the Rough Mode Decision step. We call this approach hierarchical as we decrease stepwise the angles between the directions of the prediction modes that are tested. Obviously, the fast mode selection results in significant complexity reduction obtained at the cost of choosing a sub-optimum mode related to slightly reduced compression performance. In the paper, it is proposed how to calculate the trade-off between encoder complexity and compression performance, using the ratio of relative coding time reduction and average bitrate increase estimated for constant decoded video quality. Extensive experiments prove that this ratio is much higher for the proposed technique than for many other techniques from the references.

Carbon Nanotube (CNT), Operational Transresistance Amplifier (OTRA),
Operational Transresistance Amplifier (OTRA) has been a topic of great interest recently. OTRA has proved itself to be an appropriate device for the analog applications. As MOS scaling suffers from various problems, carbon nanotube field effect transistor (CNTFET) has came into light as one of the brightest alternative for FET (Field Effect Transistors) based devices. This work has introduced a new CNTFET based OTRA which is capable of realising inverse low pass filter using two OTRAs and few passive elements. CNTFET based OTRA has been designed and simulated at 10nm technology node. The working ability of the designed model has been conformed using HSPICE simulation. It is compared with conventional CMOS based OTRA. The comparative analysis has revealed improvement in various performance parameters. The paper also presents how change in number of carbon nanotube in CNTFETs in OTRA circuit affects the transresistance gain and input impedance. The optimized results are also discussed to improve transresistance gain and input impedance. The paper also dealt with the realisation of inverse low pass filter using proposed CNTFET based OTRA.

In this paper, we proposed a novel design of U-slotted SIW antenna. Our antenna design is aimed to cover upper K-band and lower Ka-band spectrums, specifically from 24 GHz to 32 GHz. It has a compact square size of 5.2 x 5.2 mm2. We use a rectangular truncated corner to optimize the square radiator. The optimized rectangular truncated corner size of 2 x 0.8 mm2 gives an impedance bandwidth of 7.87 GHz. SIW cavity is constructed by using multiple metallic via-holes which are drilled in a dielectric substrate establishing. Next optimization, applying the U-shaped slot and SIW structure yield a wider impedance bandwidth of 8.89 GHz, there is about 1.02 GHz of impedance bandwidth enhancement. In addition, the SIW structure gives a higher gain of 7.63 dB and decreases the sidelobe level of -12.1 dB. Implementation of the SIW structure significantly decreases the size of antenna while keeping the antenna parameter’s performances.

Matching-Based Virtual Network Function Embedding for SDN-Enabled Power Distribution IoT

The power distribution internet of things (PD-IoT) has the complex network architecture, various emerging services, and the enormous number of terminal devices, which poses rigid requirements on substrate network infrastructure. However, the traditional PD-IoT has the characteristics of single network function, management and maintenance difficulties, and poor service flexibility, which makes it hard to meet the differentiated quality of service (QoS) requirements of different services. In this paper, we propose the software-defined networking (SDN)-enabled PD-IoT framework to improve network compatibility and flexibility, and investigate the virtual network function (VNF) embedding problem of service orchestration in PD-IoT. To solve the preference conflicts among different VNFs towards the network function node (NFV) and provide differentiated service for services in various priorities, a matching-based priority-aware VNF embedding (MPVE) algorithm is proposed to reduce energy consumption while minimizing the total task processing delay. Simulation results demonstrate that MPVE significantly outperforms existing matching algorithm and random matching algorithm in terms of delay and energy consumption while ensuring the task processing requirements of high-priority services.

Design of a Dual-Band Rectangular Waveguide Filter based on Direct Coupled

This paper presents how to design and simulate a passband rectangular waveguide filters based on direct coupled resonators operating at 12 GHz. The modeled filters are characterized by a cross coupling that produces a single attenuation pole at finite frequency used to shape the bandpass response. Resonators provide bandpass filter designs with a pseudo-elliptic response using HFSS simulators. Transmission zeros are obtained through coupling between the fundamental mode and high mode. The filter structures are validated leading to obtain transmission zeros close to the passband. The simulated waveguide filters with a centre frequency exhibit an insertion loss of -0.4/0.3dB and a return loss of −20/23dB for a bandwidth ranging from 11.85GHz to 12.15GHz that shows good electromagnetic responses for the simulated filters

Two-Way Relaying Cooperative Wireless Networks: Resource Allocation and Performance Analysis
Abrar, Muhammad

Punchihewa, Amal
Relay-based cooperative wireless networks have been widely considered one of the cost-effective solutions to meet the demands in future wireless networks. In order to maximize the overall sum-rate while maintaining proportional fairness among users, we investigate different resource allocation algorithms in two-way relay networks with analog network coding (ANC) protocol and time division broadcast (TDBC) protocol. The algorithms investigated are different from traditional proportional fairness schemes in terms of fairness and computational complexity as we have applied Access Proportional Fairness (APF) and Minimum Rate Proportional Fairness (MRPF) along with load balancing at the relays. A MATLAB simulation has been performed and simulation results show the effectiveness of these algorithms.

Growing popularity of distributed generation isdrawing special attention to communication technologies in smartpower grids. This paper provides a detailed overview of thecommunication protocols utilized in the modern distributed gridlaboratory. It describes both wired and wireless technologies usedin Smart Grid and presents the remote operation of switchingthe subsystem from grid mode to island mode operating undernominal conditions. It shows the duration of power outagesduring a transfer to island mode with diesel generator runningon idle - which simulates planned islanding and diesel generatorstationary, which simulates unplanned islanding. Latency betweenregistration of disturbance and executing control commandis measured. The results obtained are compared with currentlegislation. The consequences to the power system that arepossible in both scenarios are highlighted. Obtained results anddescription of the communication technologies can be useful forthe design of distributed power grids, island-mode power grids, and Smart Grids, as well as for further research in the area ofusing combustion fuel generators as a primary power supply inthe microgrid.

Power Allocation for Energy-Harvesting-based Fading Cognitive Multiple Access Channels: with or without Successive Interference Cancellation

wireless communications; Cognitive radio; power allocation; multiple access channels; energy harvesting.
This paper considers a fading cognitive multiple access channel (CMAC), where multiple secondary users (SUs), who share the spectrum with a primary user (PU), transmit to a cognitive base station (CBS). A power station is assumed to harvest energy from the nature and then provide power to the SUs. We investigate the power allocation problems for such a CMAC to maximize the SU sum rate under the interference power constraint, the sum transmit power constraint and the peak transmit power constraint of each individual SU. In particular, two scenarios are considered: with successive interference cancellation (SIC) and without SIC. For the first scenario, the optimal power allocation algorithm is derived. For the second scenario, a heuristic algorithm is proposed. We show that the proposed algorithm with SIC outperforms the algorithm without SIC in terms of the SU sum rate, while the algorithm without SIC outperforms the algorithm with SIC in terms of the number of admitted SUs for a high sum transmit power limit and a low peak transmit power limit of each individual SU.

Edge Weight Power and Frequency Assignment Algorithm
Pharatlhatlhe, One S.

Gower, Ephraim
channel allocation; interference score; traffic intensity score; priority flags; frequency assignment; optimisation
In cellular networks, cells are grouped more densely around highly populated areas to provide more capacity. Antennas are pointed in accordance with local terrain and clutter to reduce signal shadows and interference. Hardware parameters are easily set during installation but difficult to change thereafter. In a dynamic environment of population migration, there is need to continuously tune network parameters to adapt the network performance. Modern mobile equipment logs network usage patterns and statistics over time. This information can be used to tune soft parameters of the network. These parameters may include frequency channel assignment or reuse, and transmitter radiation power assignment to provide more capacity on demand. The paper proposes that by combining the frequency and power assignments, further optimisation in resource allocation can be achieved over a traditional frequency assignment. The solution considers the interference, traffic intensity and use of priority flags to bias some edges. An Edge Weight Power and Frequency Assignment Algorithm is presented to solve the resource allocation problem in cellular networks. The paper also analyses the performance improvements obtained over that of the Edge Weight Frequency Assignment Algorithm. The results show that the proposed algorithm improves the performance of the Edge Weight Frequency Assignment Algorithm depending on the initial structure of the graph.

An Experimental Study of Conducted EMI Mitigation on the LED Driver using Spread Spectrum Technique
Hariyawan, Mohammad Yanuar

(LED driver; conducted; EMI; luminance; spreadspectrum)
LED driver has the potential to interfere the system of electronic devices if the voltage and current change rapidly. Several previous studies presented various solutions to overcome this problem such as particular converter design, component design, electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters, and spread-spectrum techniques. Compared to other solutions, the spread-spectrum technique is the most potential way to reduce the EMI in LED applications due to its limited cost-size-weight. In this paper, the effectiveness of conducted EMI suppression performance and the evaluation of its effect on LED luminance using spread-spectrum techniques are investigated. Spread-spectrum is applied to the system by modifying the switching frequency by providing disturbances at pin IADJ. The disorder is given in the form of four signals, namely square, filtered-square, triangular, and sine disturbance signals. The highest level of the EMI suppression of about 31.89% is achieved when the LED driver is given 800 mVpp filtered-square waveform. The highest reduction power level occurs at fundamental frequency reference, when it is given 700 mVpp square disruption signal, is about 81.77% reduction. The LED luminance level will reduce by 85.2% when it is given the four waveforms disruption signals. These reductions occur as the switching frequency of the LED driver does not work on a fixed frequency, but it varies in certain bands. LED brightness level has a tendency to generate a constant value of 235 lux when it is given the disruption signals. This disturbance signal causes the dimming function on the system that does not work properly.

Design of a Predictive PID Controller using Particle Swarm Optimization
Hashim, Fazida
Mustafa, Norhaida
The proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is widely used in various industrial applications such as process control, motor drives, magnetic and optical memory, automotive, flight control and instrumentation. PID tuning refers to the generation of PID parameters (Kp, Ki, Kd) to obtain the optimum fitness value for any system. The determination of the PID parameters is essential for any system that relies on it to function in a stable mode. This paper proposes a method in designing a predictive PID controller system using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for direct current (DC) motor application. Extensive numerical simulations have been done using the Mathwork’s Matlab simulation environment. In order to gain full benefits from the PSO algorithm, the PSO parameters such as inertia weight, iteration number, acceleration constant and particle number need to be carefully adjusted and determined. Therefore, the first investigation of this study is to present a comparative analysis between two important PSO parameters; inertia weight and number of iteration, to assist the predictive PID controller design. Simulation results show that inertia weight of 0.9 and iteration number 100 provide a good fitness achievement with low overshoot and fast rise and settling time. Next, a comparison between the performance of the DC motor with PID-PSO, with PID of gain 1, and without PID were also discussed. From the analysis, it can be concluded that by tuning the PID parameters using PSO method, the best gain in performance may be found. Finally, when comparing between the PID-PSO and its counterpart, the PI-PSO, the PID-PSO controller gives better performance in terms of robustness, low overshoot (0.005%), low minimum rise time (0.2806 seconds) and low settling time (0.4326 seconds).

Improving security of existentially unforgeable signature schemes
Jurkiewicz, Mariusz
Cryptography; Digital Signature Schemes
In this paper we present a family of transforms that map existentially unforgeable signature schemes to signature schemes being strongly unforgeable. In spite of rising security, the transforms let us make a signature on a union of messages at once. The number of elements in this union depends on the signing algorithm of a scheme being transformed. In addition to that we define an existentially unforgeable signature scheme based on pairings, which satisfies all assumptions of the first part and is able to be subjected to transformation.

Secure Data Aggregation Mechanism based on Constrained Supervision for Wireless Sensor Network
Zhang, Puning
The data aggregation process of wireless sensor networks faces serious security problems. In order to defend the internal attacks launched by captured nodes and ensure the reliability of data aggregation, a secure data aggregation mechanism based on constrained supervision is proposed for wireless sensor network, which uses the advanced LEACH clustering method to select cluster heads. Then the cluster heads supervise the behaviors of cluster members and evaluate the trust values of nodes according to the communication behavior, data quality and residual energy. Then the node with the highest trust value is selected as the supervisor node to audit the cluster head and reject nodes with low trust values. Results show that the proposed mechanism can effectively identify the unreliable nodes, guarantee the system security and prolong the network lifetime.

Dual Band Integrated Wideband Multi Resonating Patch Antenna for C-Band and Ku –Band Applications
Srivastava, Karunesh

Electronics; Antenna
A wideband antenna with dual band characteristic at 5.33/14.3 GHz with resonating frequencies for wireless applications is presented. The strategy of the design is to introduce multiband in antenna band. Band width of the antenna increases by embedding annular ring on the radiating patch and four bands are achieved by introducing coupling gap between the patches. Surface current distribution is analyzed at different resonating frequencies for understanding the radiation mechanism and effect of annular ring. The antenna parameters such as return loss, radiation pattern, gain, VSWR and group delay are discussed. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed dual band antenna at lower resonant frequency is 12.7% (simulated) and 9.8 % (measured) whereas at upper resonant frequency is 15.3 % (simulated) and 13.97 % (measured). The proposed antenna structures are simulated by HFSS tool and the structure is fabricated for verification of simulated results by experiment.

Memristors: a short review on fundamentals, structures, materials and applications

Materials Science and Engineering; Semiconductors
The paper contains a short literature review on the subject of special type of thin film structures with resistive-switching memory effect. In the literature, such structures are commonly labeled as "memristors". The word "memristor" originates from two words: "memory" and "resistor". For the first time, the memristor was theoretically described in 1971 by Leon Chua as the 4th fundamental passive electronics element with a non-linear current-voltage behavior. The reported area of potential usage of memristor is enormous. It is predicted that the memristor could find application, for example in the domain of nonvolatile random access memory, flash memory, neuromorphic systems and so forth. However, in spite of the fact that plenty of papers have been published in the subject literature to date, the memristor still behaves as a "mysterious" electronic element. It seems that, one of the important reasons that such structures are not yet in practical use, is unsufficient knowledge of physical phenomena determining occurrence of the switching effect. The present paper contains a literature review of available descriptions of theoretical basis of the memristor structures, used materials, structure configurations and discussion about future prospects and limitations.

5G is a fifth-generation wireless technology thatenables extremely fast data transfers and massive connectioncapacity. Existing Mobile health technology requires more reliableconnection power and data transfer rates. The purpose of thisresearch is to design, analyse, and compare the performance of abio-inspired lotus-shaped microstrip patch antenna array with twoto three radiating elements. The proposed antenna utilizesproximity coupled indirect microstrip transmission line feedingtechnique operating in the 24 GHz-30 GHz frequency band. Theresults indicate that performance continues to improve as thenumber of radiating elements increases. Moreover, each radiatingelement is loaded with complementary and non-complementarysplit-ring resonators (SRRs). The performance of the proposedmicrostrip antenna array is then analysed and compared with andwithout split-ring resonators. The findings validate that theproposed bio-inspired metamaterial-based microstrip patch arrayantenna is more reliable and performs better than an antennawithout SRRs

New Structure of Test Pattern Generator Stimulating Crosstalks in Bus-type Connections
Garbolino, Tomasz
integrated circuit interconnections; crosstalk; test pattern generator; built in self-test; system-on-a chip
The paper discloses the idea of a new structure for a Test Pattern Generator (TPG) for detection of crosstalk faults that may happen to bus-type interconnections between built-in blocks within a System on a Chip structure. The new idea is an improvement of the TPG design proposed by the author in one of previous studies. The TPG circuit is meant to generate test sequences that guarantee detection of all crosstalk faults with the capacitance nature that may occur between individual lines within an interconnecting bus. The study comprises a synthesizable and parameterized model developed for the presented TPG in the VLSI Hardware Description Language (VHDL) with further investigation of properties and features of the offered module. The significant advantages of the proposed TPG structure include less area occupied on a chip and higher operation frequency as compared to other solutions. In addition, the design demonstrates good scalability in terms of both the hardware overhead and the length of the generated test sequence.

In the current smart tech world, there is an immense need of automating tasks and processes to avoid human intervention, save time and energy. Nowadays, mobile phones have become one of the essential things for human beings either to call someone, connect to the internet, while driving people need mobile phones to receive or make a call, use google maps to know the routes and many more. Normally in cars, mobile holders are placed on the dashboard to hold the mobile and the orientation of the phone needs to be changed according to the driver's convenience manually, but the driver may distract from driving while trying to access mobile phone which may lead to accidents. To solve this problem, an auto adjustable mobile holder is designed in such a way that it rotates according to the movement of the driver and also it can even alert the driver when he feels drowsiness. Image Processing is used to detect the movement of the driver which is then processed using LabVIEW software and NI myRIO hardware. NI Vision development module is used to perform face recognition and servo motors are used to rotate the holder in the required position. Simulation results show that the proposed system has achieved maximum accuracy in detecting faces, drowsiness and finding the position coordinates.

European Quantum Strategy – global and local consequences

quantum information technologies; quantum teleinformatics; quantum computing; European qQuantum Flagship;
Europe has to face strong competitive challenges in the field of QIT from other regions of the world. The tools for the effective implementation of the challenges related to the start, we hope, of building a quantum civilization are both common and individual in particulari European countries. Joint projects in the field of QIT, usually narrowly focused, are announced by large European Agencies and are related to their activities. Large-scale collaborative projects are of course the domain of the EC. National projects depend heavily on the capabilities of individual countries and vary greatly in size. The most technologically advanced European countries invest hundreds of millions of Euros in national QIT projects annually. The largest European FET class project currently being implemented is the Quantum Flagship. Although the EQF is basically just one of the elements of a large and complicated European scene of development of quantum technologies, it becomes the most important element and, in a sense, a dominant one, also supported from the political level. There are complex connections and feedbacks between the elements of this quantum scene. National projects try to link to the EQF. Here we are interested in such connections and their impact on the effectiveness of QIT development in Europe, and especially in Poland.

The system of headlights operation recognition using the digital twin method.
Dawid, Aleksander

safety engineering; technical informatics and telecommunications;
Virtual digital representation of a physical object or system, created with precision through computer simulations, data analysis, and various digital technologies can be used as training set for real life situations. The principal aim behind creating a virtual representation is to furnish a dynamic, data-fueled, and digital doppelgänger of the physical asset. This digital counterpart serves multifaceted purposes, including the optimization of performance, the continuous monitoring of its well-being, and the augmentation of informed decision-making processes. Main advantage of employing a digital twin is its capacity to facilitate experimentation and assessment of diverse scenarios and conditions, all without impinging upon the actual physical entity. This capability translates into substantial cost savings and superior outcomes, as it allows for the early identification and mitigation of issues before they escalate into significant problems in the tangible world. Within our research endeavors, we've meticulously constructed a digital twin utilizing the Unity3D software. This digital replica faithfully mimics vehicles, complete with functioning headlamp toggles. Our lighting system employs polygons and normal vectors, strategically harnessed to generate an array of dispersed and reflected light effects. To ensure realism, we've meticulously prepared the scene to emulate authentic road conditions. For validation and testing, we integrated our model with the YOLO (You Only Look Once) neural network. A specifically trained compact YOLO model demonstrated impressive capabilities by accurately discerning the status of real vehicle headlamps. On average, it achieved an impressive recognition probability of 80%, affirming the robustness of our digital twin.

Design and Optimization of Rectangular Waveguide Filter based on Direct Coupled Resonators

The waveguide filter structure is treated by two softwares (HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) and CST (Computer Simulation Technology)). Numerical example is given in this article to demonstrate, step by step, the application of the approach to the design of resonator, direct coupled waveguide and microstrip filters based on electromagnetic (EM) simulations. For this design procedure, the filter structure is simulated by successively adding one resonator at a time. To continue the work illustrates how to design a fourth order coupled resonator based rectangular waveguide circuit in the traditional way. With a large number of variables, such tuning work consumes a lot of time and the convergence of the final result is not guaranteed. A fourth order X-band bandpass filter with a center frequency of 11 GHz and a fractional bandwidth FBW = 0,0273 is designed using this procedure and presented here as an example. The simulated results by CST are presented and compared withthe results simulated by a high-frequency structure simulator. Good agreement between the simulated HFSSand simulated results by CST is observed.

Noise Analysis of Differential Multiport Networks - the Wave Approach
Dobrowolski, Janusz
Microwave Theory and Techniques, CAD
In this paper there is presented and discussed a general analysis method for noise characterization of noisy multiport differential networks. Presented results can be implemented directly in a CAD software noise analysis of differential microwave multiport networks with differential as well as with conventional single ended ports.

Fading Channel Prediction for 5G and 6G Mobile Communication Systems
Soszka, Maciej Krzysztof
Nowadays, there is a trend to employ adaptive so-lutions in mobile communication. The adaptive transmission sys-tems seem to answer the need for highly reliable communicationthat serves high data rates. For efficient adaptive transmission, the future Channel State Information (CSI) has to be known. Thevarious prediction methods can be applied to estimate the futureCSI. However, each method has its bottlenecks. The task is evenmore challenging while considering the future 5G/6G communi-cation where the employment of sub-6 GHz and millimetre waves(mmWaves) in narrow-band, wide-band and ultra-wide-bandtransmission is considered. Thus, we describe the differencesbetween sub-6 GHz/mmWave and narrow-band/wide-band/ultra-wide-band channel prediction, provide a comprehensive overviewof available prediction methods, discuss its performance andanalyse the opportunity to use them in sub-6 GHz and mmWavesystems. We select Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent NeuralNetwork (RNN) as the most promising technique for future CSIprediction and propose optimising one of its parameters - thenumber of input features, which was not yet considered as anopportunity to improve the performance of CSI prediction.

Wireless Sensor Networks; Clustering; Fuzzy
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) acquired a lotof attention due to their widespread use in monitoring hostileenvironments, critical surveillance and security applications. Inthese applications, usage of wireless terminals also has grownsignificantly. Grouping of Sensor Nodes (SN) is called clusteringand these sensor nodes are burdened by the exchange of messagescaused due to successive and recurring re-clustering, whichresults in power loss. Since most of the SNs are fitted with nonrechargeablebatteries, currently researchers have been concentratingtheir efforts on enhancing the longevity of these nodes. Forbattery constrained WSN concerns, the clustering mechanism hasemerged as a desirable subject since it is predominantly good atconserving the resources especially energy for network activities. This proposed work addresses the problem of load balancingand Cluster Head (CH) selection in cluster with minimum energyexpenditure. So here, we propose hybrid method in which clusterformation is done using unsupervised machine learning based kmeansalgorithm and Fuzzy-logic approach for CH selection.

This paper explores cost-effective alternatives for resource-constrained environments in the context of language models by investigating methods such as quantization and CPU-based model implementations. The study addresses the computational efficiency of language models during inference and the development of infrastructure for text document processing. The paper discusses related technologies, the CLARIN-PL infrastructure architecture, and implementations of small and large language models. The emphasis is on model formats, data precision, and runtime environments (GPU and CPU). It identifies optimal solutions through extensive experimentation. In addition, the paper advocates for a more comprehensive performance evaluation approach. Instead of reporting only average token throughput, it suggests considering the curve's shape, which can vary from constant to monotonically increasing or decreasing functions. Evaluating token throughput at various curve points, especially for different output token counts, provides a more informative perspective.

This paper represents a developed cryptographic information protection algorithm based on an substitution-permutation network. We describe the cryptographic transformations used in the developed algorithm. One of the features of the algorithm is the simplicity of its modification with regard to different security levels. The algorithm uses a pre-developed S-box tested against differential and linear cryptanalysis. The S-box is consistent with the one of known standards AES and GOST R 34.12-2015. We provide the findings of an avalanche-effect investigation and statistical properties of cipher texts. The algorithm actually meets the avalanche-effect criterion even after the first round.

The article is devoted to generation techniques of thenew public key crypto-systems, which are based on applicationof indistinguishability obfuscation methods to selected privatekey crypto-systems. The techniques are applied to symmetrickey crypto-system and the target system is asymmetric one.As an input for our approach an implementation of symmetricblock cipher with a given private-key is considered. Differentobfuscation methods are subjected to processing. The targetsystem would be treated as a public-key for newly createdpublic crypto-system. The approach seems to be interestingfrom theoretical point of view. Moreover, it can be useful forinformation protection in a cloud-computing model.

The implementation of MIMO detection techniques become a difficult missionas the computational complexity increases with the number oftransmitting antenna and constellation size. So designing detection techniques that can recover transmitted signals from SpatialMultiplexing (SM) MIMO with reduced complexity and highperformance is challenging. In this survey, the general model ofMIMO communication system is presented in addition to multipleMIMO Spatial Multiplexing (SM) detection techniques. These detection techniques are divided into different categories, such as linear detection, Non-linear detection and tree-search detection.Detailed discussions on the advantages and disadvantages of each detection algorithm are introduced. IT Security; Intrusion Detection System; Software Defined Network
We propose a concept of using Software Defined Network (SDN) technology and machine learning algorithms for monitoring and detection of malicious activities in the SDN data plane. The statistics and features of network traffic are generated by the native mechanisms of SDN technology. In order to conduct tests and a verification of the concept, it was necessary to obtain a set of network workload test data. We present virtual environment which enables generation of the SDN network traffic. The article examines the efficiency of selected machine learning methods: Self Organizing Maps and Learning Vector Quantization and their enhanced versions. The results are compared with other SDN-based IDS.

Best Prediction Matrix Mode (BPMM); Compression efficiency; H.264/AVC; Huffman coding; Intra Prediction.
The continuous growth of smart communities and everincreasingdemand of sending or storing videos, have led toconsumption of huge amount of data. The video compressiontechniques are solving this emerging challenge. However, H.264standard can be considered most notable, and it has proven to meetproblematic requirements. The authors present (BPMM) as a novelefficient Intra prediction scheme. We can say that the creation of ourproposed technique was in a phased manner; it's emerged as aproposal and achieved impressive results in the performanceparameters as compression ratios, bit rates, and PSNR. Then in thesecond stage, we solved the challenges of overcoming the obstacle ofencoding bits overhead. In this research, we try to address the finalphase of the (BPMM) codec and to introduce our approach in a globalmanner through realization of decoding mechanism. For evaluation ofour scheme, we utilized VHDL as a platform. Final results haveproven our success to pass bottleneck of this phase, since the decodedvideos have the same PSNR that our encoder tells us, whilepreserving steady compression ratio treating the overhead. We aspireour BPMM algorithm will be adopted as reference design of H.264 inthe ITU.

Steganography is a technique that allows hidden transfer of data using some media such as Image, Audio, Video, Network Protocol or a Document, without its existence getting noticed. Over the past few years, a lot of research has been done in the field of Image, Video and Audio Steganography but very little work has been done in Network Steganography. A Network Steganography technique hides data in a Network Data Unit, i.e., a Network Protocol Packet. In this paper we present an algorithm ARPNetSteg that implements Network Steganography using the Address resolution protocol. Our technique is a robust technique that can transfer 44 bits of covert data per ARP reply packet.

wireless communication
Military wireless tactical systems has faced the problem of limited spectrum resources. This is a reason why Cognitive Radio (CR) is one of the most popular topic studied by research institutes in the field of mobile telecommunications. CR technology is based on cognitive cycle, used for making decisions based on observation and orientation. To support this activity, radios need also information on current position, electromagnetic situation, legal issues etc. These functions can be provided by Radio Environment Map (REM) database. It enables more flexible spectrum utilization and coexistence of Primary and Secondary Users (PUs, SUs) without harmful interferences. This paper presents a proposal of REM database structure and graphical user interface (GUI). It also describes GUI implementation in MATLAB and data structure. Database was implemented using the database engine – SQLite. The proposed REM database is a part of cognitive radio network simulator developed in the Institute of Telecommunications.

Edge; Dilation; Image; Payload; Steganography
This research proposes a method to enhance the payload message by embedding messages on the dilated edge areas by the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method. To add security aspects to messages, messages are not embedded directly on the LSB but encrypted with XOR operations with Most Significant Bit (MSB). The experimental results of the test in this study showed that the dilation process to some extent can increase the payload of 18.65% and the average bpp is 1.42 while maintaining the imperceptibilty quality of stego image with an average PSNR value of about 47 dB, SSIM is 0.9977 and MSE is 1.13.

The emerged potentials and opportunities in the electronics field, which facilitate the creation of complex projects with innovative functionalities and high performances, while maintaining low costs, are becoming even more appreciated by designers, engineers and users. In this research work, a telemetry system was realized in order to monitor and control the principal physical and mechanical parameters of a racing vehicle by employing devices, available on the market, at very low cost. The used STM32 Nucleo development board, heart of realized telemetry system, properly programmed with the developed firmware, acquires data from sensors installed on vehicle and, by means of a WiFi module, sends them to a base station. A CAN module interfaces the engine control unit with the Nucleo board, allowing to control the engine parameters by proper sensors. All detected sensors data are both sent wirelessly and stored on a SD memory card for avoiding data losses and to implement a system robust and reliable. Experimental results show that all received data from base station are in accordance between themselves, reporting vehicle parameters for different driving and track conditions.

FSA; flow network; QoS; MBAC; simulation
The paper contains a description and research results of the proposal for distributed QoS extensions for Flow-Based Networking. These QoS extensions let the network accept or reject flows based on current network load and QoS promises for each of the flows. Proposed solution consists of two distributed components, each of them performing in every node, measurement system and access control. The solution could be applied in any network architecture that is able to distinguish flows and routers in this architecture contains flow state table. Proposed approach was verified by simulation, in FSA architecture. Verification was done for six different network structures servicing two traffic classes (MRS, ARS). The results of the simulation tests have confirmed that the average time delay and packet loss ratio in the network with proposed extensions are below thresholds and meet the requirements recommended by ITU-T.

The improvement of fiber-detection method to enhance the output of amplify-received relaying on FSO communications

Telecommunications; Free-space optical communications
The performance of free-space optical (FSO) communications that using an optical amplifier (OA) in the scheme of an amplify-received (AR)-relaying has a major drawback in the detection of input signal quality under the effects of turbulence. As an OA is based on a fiber-detection (FD) method to receive and delivers a signal at the amplification process stage, there is an opportunity to implement an optical filter to improve the quality of the input signal. In this paper, as the continuation of previous work on improvement of direct-detection, the optical filter is applied on the AR-relaying of optical signal detection, implementing an OA in the receiver. The novelty proposed in this work is the improvement of FD method where the OF is designed as the integration of cone reflector, pinhole and multi-mode fiber with an OA. The optical filter produces an optical signal, the input of the OA, which minimizes the effects of turbulence, background noise and the fluctuation of the signal spectral. Thus, OA in AR-relaying produces signal output with high power and rise up below threshold level. Additionally, an OF with a lower pinhole diameter produces the best quality of the signal spectral to be delivered into an EDFA. Through this implementation, the performance of optical relaying network on FSO can be significantly improved.

Control theory; Automation
The paper deals with an analysis of automatic control system with continuous and discrete PID controllers. A method of tuning the parameters of the continuous controller is presented, which is optimal according to the ITAE criterion. The behavior of control systems with discrete controllers whose parameters were tuned using the mentioned method are described. The impact of changes in the sampling period of controlled signal on the control quality is shown. Changes of the values of optimal parameters of discrete PID controllers in relation to changes of the sampling rate of controlled signal are characterized.

The analytical framework for optimizing TCP retransmission algorithm based on adjustment of its EWMA parameters.
Grabowski, Michał
Janowski, Robert Marek
computer science; networking;
In this paper we derive mathematical description of TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) retransmission probability based on Jacobson’s smoothing algorithm that belongs to EWMA (Exponentially Weighted Moving Average) category. This description is parametrized on the probability density function (pdf) of RTT (Round Trip Time) samples and α, β – two primary parameters of Jacobson’s algorithm. Although it is not a close form expression, it is formulated as an effective algorithm that let us to explicitly calculate the values of RTO (Retransmission Time Out) probability as a function of α, β and the pdf of RTT samples. We achieve the effectiveness of this approach by applying smart discretization of the state space and replacement of continuous functions with discrete approximate equivalents. In this way, we mitigate the cardinality of discrete distributions we deal with that results in linear (n+m) instead of multiplicative (n⋅m) growth of computational complexity. We provide the evaluation of RTO probability for a wide set of α, β parameter values and differently shaped Normal and Laplace pdfs the RTT samples are taken from. The obtained numerical results let us to draw some conclusions regarding the choice of optimal values of α, β parameters as well as the impact of pdf the RTT samples are taken from.

Spectrum Aliasing Does not Occur in Case of Ideal Signal Sampling
Borys, Andrzej Marek
signal processing; signal sampling; Kronecker functions
A new model of ideal signal sampling operation is developed in this paper. This model does not use the Dirac comb in an analytical description of sampled signals in the continuous time domain. Instead, it utilizes functions of a continuous time variable, which are introduced in this paper: a basic Kronecker time function and a Kronecker comb (that exploits the first of them). But, a basic principle behind this model remains the same; that is it also a multiplier which multiplies a signal of a continuous time by a comb. Using a concept of a signal object (or utilizing equivalent arguments) presented elsewhere, it has been possible to find a correct expression describing the spectrum of a sampled signal so modelled. Moreover, the analysis of this expression showed that aliases and folding effects cannot occur in the sampled signal spectrum, provided that the signal sampling is performed ideally.

In this paper a short study of some basic methods of DOA of a seismic wave using so called tri-axial geophone has been presented. The proposed methods exploit the properties of Rayleigh surface plane wave to find DOA of an incoming seismic wave using inner products of appropriately filtered signals recorded by geophones. The advantage of the proposed method is its simplicity and ease of implementation in small DSP or application processors still retaining pretty good accuracy. A number of example results for real data have been given.

Abstract— The invasive method of medically checking hemoglobin level in human body by taking the blood sample of the patient requiring a long time and injuring the patient is seen impractical. A non-invasive method of measuring hemoglobin levels, therefore, is made by applying the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm and the Artificial Neural Network Back Propagation (ANN-BP) algorithm with the Internet of Things-based HTTP protocol to achieve the high accuracy and the low end-to-end delay. Based on tests conducted on a Noninvasive Hemoglobin measuring device connected to Cloud Things Speak, the prediction process using algorithm by means of Python programming based on Android application could work well. The result of this study showed that the accuracy of the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm was 94.01%; higher than that of the Artificial Neural Network Back Propagation algorithm by 92.45%. Meanwhile, the end-to-end delay was at 6.09 seconds when using the KNN algorithm and at 6.84 seconds when using Artificial Neural Network Back Propagation Algorithm.

Comparative Analysis of Procedures and Solutions to Improve Energy Efficiency of Massive MIMO
Phogat, Ritu Singh
Joshi, Rutvij
The blustery growth of high data rate applications leadsto more energy consumption in wireless networks to satisfy servicequality. Therefore, energy-efficient communications have been paidmore attention to limited energy resources and environmentallyfriendly transmission functioning. Countless publications arepresent in this domain which focuses on intensifying networkenergy efficiency for uplink-downlink transmission. It is done eitherby using linear precoding schemes, by amending the number ofantennas per BS, by power control problem formulation, antennaselection schemes, level of hardware impairments, and byconsidering cell-free (CF) Massive-MIMO.After reviewing thesetechniques, still there are many barriers to implement thempractically. The strategies mentioned in this review show theperformance of EE under the schemes as raised above. The chiefcontribution of this work is the comparative study of how MassiveMIMO EE performs under the background of different methodsand architectures and the solutions to few problem formulationsthat affect the EE of network systems. This study will help choosethe best criteria to improve EE of Massive MIMO whileformulating a newer edition of testing stand-ards.This surveyprovides the base for interested readers in energy efficient MassiveMIMO.

Axial Ratio (AR); Circular Polarization; MIMO Antenna; SEA ( Single Element Antenna).
In this article, a hybrid circularly polarized Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna for multiband operationfrom 2.3 to 9.2 GHz with impedance bandwidth of 7 GHz isproposed and investigated experimentally. The designed MIMOantenna model has a compact size of 20mm×40mm×1.6mm onFR4-substrate. The microstrip fed of the proposed slot antennaconsists of a tapered structure, and the radiating element consistsof the inverted L- shaped slots and opened on both sides of theradiating element to introduce notches at the sub-6 GHzfrequencies. L-shaped stubs are introduced on another side of thesubstrate in the common ground plane to attain high isolationbetween the radiating elements of the proposed antenna. In theoperating band from 2.3 to 9.2 GHz an isolation of less than -20 dBis attained from the proposed model. The performance of thecircularly polarized MIMO antenna in terms of RHCP and LHCPradiation patterns, axial ratio, surface current distributions, isolation between the ports, diversity gain (DG), envelopecorrelation coefficient (ECC), total active reflection coefficient(TARC) and peak gain are studied and presented in this work. Theobtained characteristics of the proposed antenna make it suitablefor sub-6-GHz frequency applications.

Fully Analytical Characterization of the Series Inductance of Tapered Integrated Inductors
Passos, Fabio
Fino, M. Helena
Moreno, Elisenda R.
In this paper a general method for the determination of the series inductance of polygonal tapered inductors is presented. The value obtained can be integrated into any integrated inductor lumped element model, thus granting the overall characterization of the device and the evaluation of performance parameters such as the quality factor or the resonance frequency. In this work, the inductor is divided into several segments and the corresponding self and mutual inductances are calculated. In the end, results obtained for several working examples are compared against electromagnetic (EM) simulations are performed in order to check the validity of the model for square, hexagonal, octagonal and tapered inductors. The proposed method depends exclusively on the geometric characteristics of the inductor as well as the technological parameters. This allows its straight forward application to any inductor shape or technology.

Construction of generalized Rademacher functions in terms of ternary logic: solving the problem of visibility of using Galois fields for digital signal processing
Matrassulova, Dinara
Vitulyova, Elizaveta
Suleimenov, Ibragim
Using generalized Rademacher functions, constructed as a sequence of elements of Galois fields , and intended to find the spectral representation of signals with n levels, the expediency of using the concept of "logical imaginary unit" is substantiated. These functions form a complete basis on the interval corresponding to 3^n -1 discrete time intervals and for n=1 passing into the classical Rademacher functions. The advantage of such spectra obtained using Galois Fields Fourier Transform is that the range of variation of the spectrum amplitudes remains the same as the range of variation of the original signal, which is modeled on discrete time functions taking values in the Galois field.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) plays a crucial role in many industrial, commercial, and social applications. However, increasing the number of nodes in a WSN increases network complexity, making it harder to acquire all relevant data in a timely way. By assuming the end node as a base station, we devised an Artificial Ant Routing (AAR) method that overcomes such network difficulties and finds an ideal routing that gives an easy way to reach the destination node in our situation. The goal of our research is to establish WSN parameters that are based on the biologically inspired Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) method. The proposed AAR provides the alternating path in case of congestion and high traffic requirement. In the event of node failures in a wireless network, the same algorithm enhances the efficiency of the routing path and acts as a multipath data transmission approach. We simulated network factors including Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), Throughput, and Energy Consumption to achieve this. The major objective is to extend the network lifespan while data is being transferred by avoiding crowded areas and conserving energy by using a small number of nodes. The result shows that AAR is having improved performance parameters as compared to LEACH, LEACH-C, and FCM-DS-ACO.

Patient Summary; IHE; e-Health; ELGA; epSOS
Patient summary documents provide crucial information about a patient, like allergies and adverse reactions, which are necessary for an efficient and safe treatment and offer a quick overview of the patient’s health status. Automatically generating patient summaries from Electronic Health Records (EHR) reduces the workload of medical personnel. Nevertheless, existing approaches do not take several challenges that occur in live operation into account . Based on a health standard-compliant approach, a system for on-demand generation of patient summaries was implemented and evaluated using real data. This work shows several problems which could be identified. Those problems are not covered sufficiently by current research. Possible approaches to a solution are suggested, which have to be further investigated in future work.

Solving the problem of discrete process control synthesis using optimization on a sliding interval

The paper presents a solution to the problem of synthesis of control with respect to the sliding interval length for the optimization of a class of discrete linear multidimensional objects with a quadratic performance criterion. The equation of motion of a closed multidimensional discrete system in the general non-stationary case is derived based on the length of the optimization interval and their main properties. The closed-loop is fitted with a signal representing the predicted values averaged over the whole sliding interval of optimization with a certain weight. A problem with a sliding optimization interval may not require a real-time solution by means of a sequence of solutions on compressed intervals. Therefore, the study of control systems with optimization on a sliding interval is of undoubted interest for a number of practically important control problems.

Skin Lesion Analysis Toward Melanoma Detection Using Deep Learning Techniques
Sherif, Fatma

Mohra, Ashraf
In the last few years, a great attention was paid to the deep learning Techniques used for image analysis because of their ability to use machine learning techniques to transform input data into high level presentation. For the sake of accurate diagnosis, the medical field has a steadily growing interest in such technology especially in the diagnosis of melanoma. These deep learning networks work through making coarse segmentation, conventional filters and pooling layers. However, this segmentation of the skin lesions results in image of lower resolution than the original skin image. In this paper, we present deep learning based approaches to solve the problems in skin lesion analysis using a dermoscopic image containing skin tumor. The proposed models are trained and evaluated on standard benchmark datasets from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration (ISIC) 2018 Challenge. The proposed method achieves an accuracy of 96.67% for the validation set .The experimental tests carried out on a clinical dataset show that the classification performance using deep learning-based features performs better than the state-of-the-art techniques

Software architecture; Deployment view; Architectural views model 1+5; Unified Modeling Language extensibility mechanisms; Distributed Ledger Technology; Blockchain
The Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is a peer-to-peer model of sharing data among collaborating parties in a decentralized manner. An example of DLT is a blockchain where data form blocks in an append-only chain. Software architecture description usually comprises multiple views. The paper concentrates on the Deployment view of the DLT solution within the 1+5 architectural views model. The authors have proposed Unified Modeling Language (UML) extensibility mechanisms to describe the needed additional semantic notation to model deployment details. The paper covers both the network and node levels. The proposed stereotypes and tagged values have enriched the UML Deployment diagram. We have gathered those modeling elements in dedicated UML Profile for Distributed Ledger Deployment. We have applied the profile to model the Deployment view of a renewable energy management system that uses the R3Cordaframework. The system records information about inbound and outbound energy to/from a renewable energy grid.

On Secrecy Performance for Energy-Harvesting Multi-Antenna Relaying Networks with a Dual-Use Source
Pan, Gaofeng
Zhang, Jiliang
Xie, Yiyuan
This paper studies the secrecy performance of an energy-harvesting relaying system in the presence of a dual-use source node and an eavesdropper. Specifically, the source has dual roles in the dual-hop communication: 1) to transmit confidential information in the first hop; 2) to generate jamming signal to interfere the eavesdropper in the second hop. Moreover, the multi-antenna relay deploys a power-splitting harvesting scheme to coordinate the information receiving and energy harvesting, and adopts maximal ratio combining technique to process the multiple copies of signals. Considering decode-and-forward protocol and transmit antenna selection scheme, we derive an analytical expression for secrecy outage probability, and perform Monte Carlo simulation to validate the analysis. Analytical results show that the SOP performance with the dual-use source node can be effectively improved when the relay-destination channel does not have absolute advantage over the relay-eavesdropper channel.

mobility management; handover; LTE; lte-sim; available bandwidth; RSRP
In this paper, we propose a new algorithm that improves the performance of the operation of Handover (HO) in LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) networks. As recognized, Mobility Management (MM) is an important pillar in LTE/LTE-A systems to provide high quality of service to users on the move. The handover algorithms define the method and the steps to follow to ensure a reliable transfer of the UEs from one cell to another without interruption or degradation of the services offered by the network. In this paper, the authors proposed a new handover algorithm for LTE/LTE-A networks based on the measurement and calculation of two important parameters, namely the available bandwidth and the Received Power (RSRP) at the level of eNodeBs. The proposed scheme named LTE Available Bandwidth and RSRP Based Handover Algorithm (LABRBHA) was tested in comparison with well-known algorithms in the literature as the LHHA, LHHAARC and the INTEGRATOR scheme using the open source simulator LTE-Sim. Finally, the network performances were investigated via three indicators: the number of lost packets during the handover operation, the latency as well as the maximum system throughput. The results reported that our algorithm shows remarkable improvements over other transfer schemes.

The purpose of this paper is to generate cryptographically strong elliptic curves over prime fields Fp, where p is a Mersenne prime, one of the special primes or a random prime. We search for elliptic curves which orders are also prime numbers. The cryptographically strong elliptic curves are those for which the discrete logarithm problem is computationally hard. The required mathematical conditions are formulated in terms of parameters characterizing the elliptic curves. We present an algorithm to generate such curves. Examples of elliptic curves of prime order are generated with Magma.

FPGA Implementation of Neural Nets
Sujathakumari, B A

C G, Sinchana
The field programmable gate array (FPGA) is used to build an artificial neural network in hardware. Architecture for a digital system is devised to execute a feed-forward multilayer neural network. ANN and CNN are very commonly used architectures. Verilog is utilized to describe the designed architecture. For the computation of certain tasks, a neural network's distributed architecture structure makes it potentially efficient. The same features make neural nets suitable for application in VLSI technology. For the hardware of a neural network, a single neuron must be effectively implemented (NN). Reprogrammable computer systems based on FPGAs are useful for hardware implementations of neural networks.

ADDP: Anomaly Detection based on Denoising Pretraining
Ge, Xianlei
Li, Xiaoyan
Zhang, Zhipeng
artificial intelligence;image processing;deep learning
Acquiring labels in anomaly detection tasks is expensive and challenging. Therefore, as an effective way to improve efficiency, pretraining is widely used in anomaly detection models, which enriches the model's representation capabilities, thereby enhancing both performance and efficiency in anomaly detection. In most pretraining methods, the decoder is typically randomly initialized. Drawing inspiration from the diffusion model, this paper proposed to use denoising as a task to pretrain the decoder in anomaly detection, which is trained to reconstruct the original noise-free input. Denoising requires the model to learn the structure, patterns, and related features of the data, particularly when training samples are limited. This paper explored two approaches on anomaly detection: simultaneous denoising pretraining for encoder and decoder, denoising pretraining for only decoder. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this method on improving model’s performance. Particularly, when the number of samples is limited, the improvement is more pronounced.

Low cost design methods to enhance resolution and dimensions for printed electrodes
Tarapata, Grzegorz
Marzęcki, Michał
In the paper, we demonstrate the feasibility of fabrication interdigitated electrodes with the usage of inkjet printing technology. The emphasis was put to obtain better shape quality and lower spacing between electrodes with respect to the typical printing process. The paper presents an analysis of the main factors that have an influence on the dimension and quality of printed structures and proposes methods that allow eliminating the main problems. The first proposed method is based on controlling the time between patterning successive drops. While the second method is based on changing the design methods and printing orientation. Both methods do not require any additional technological processes or the use of any special surface preparation methods. Finally, the obtained results and conclusions were presented and discussed.
