Abstract

The paper presents the design, numerical modeling, and experimental validation of a low-cost multiband cable antenna intended for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The proposed antenna is based on a modified coaxial cable structure that acts as a radiator, enabling operation in multiple frequency bands, including the 868 MHz and 2.4 GHz ISM bands. The antenna design was developed in the CST Studio Suite environment and subsequently validated experimentally using a vector network analyzer (VNA). To assess fabrication repeatability, the frequency characteristics of four identical antenna prototypes were measured. The measured S11 reflection coefficient demonstrated stable multiband operation consistent with the simulation results. The proposed solution represents an attractive alternative to conventional external antennas in IoT systems.
