Abstract

This paper presents the results of measurements and analysis of microcontroller performance in the context of drone
flight control applications. Main focus is placed on the speed and consistency of executing orientation estimation algorithms and
sensor data acquisition. The study evaluates several commonly available microcontrollers with varying architectures and clock
speeds and compares their absolute and relative performance. The findings aim to provide insights into the most critical
characteristics of microcontrollers when selecting hardware for drone flight controllers, particularly considering low-cost and
easily integratable solutions.
